Artworks
Peter Campbell was born in London and studied graphic design at the London School of Printing and Graphic Arts and painting and drawing as a part time student at Goldsmiths' College. He worked as a graphic designer until 1965 before concentrating on his own work.
In 1971 he moved to Eye, Suffolk and took the surrounding landscape as one of his inspirations exploring the changing seasons in his art.
Edge of the Forest demonstrates his instinctive use of brush, sponge and finger to manipulate the paint and it explores the changing colours of Autumn in landscape. He was inspired by the work of Pierre Bonnard and Ivon Hitchens to explore a spirit of place.
